The Department of Meteorology announced that there will be occasional rains in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (28).
Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers at places in Uva, Eastern and Northern provinces today in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology further emphasized that necessary measures should be taken to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunder showers.
Also, from today (28) to September 07, the sun will be visible directly above the latitude of Sri Lanka in its southward movement, according to the announcement.
Thus, the sun will reach the top of Jaffna and Kodikammam areas today at 12.11 pm.
