A group of Indian fishermen in the custody of the Navy

A group of 12 Indian fishermen have been taken into custody by the Navy while they were illegally engaged in fishing activities in the Sri Lankan waters.
The navy said that the concerned fishermen were taken into custody at Mullaitivu and Lampil beach.
The navy also seized a stock of fishing gear from the vessel they were traveling on.
The Navy further stated that after bringing these fishermen to the Trincomalee Naval Station, they will be handed over to the Trincomalee Fisheries Inspectorate for further investigations.
