A PERSON WHO WENT ON A PILGRIMAGE TO SRI PADA HAS DIED

A person who was going on a pilgrimage to Sri Pada has died due to a sudden illness.
The deceased has been identified as a 75 year old resident of Nawalapitiya.
The deceased along with his family members had arrived at Sri Pada Wandana and died suddenly.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
His body is currently being treated at the Hatton Dickoya Hospital and an autopsy is to be conducted.
Nallathanniya police are conducting further investigations.
