A reduction in rain today.

The Department of Meteorology stated that it expects a reduction in the heavy rain conditions that prevailed today (06).
Occasional rains will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts and there is a possibility of more than 50 mm of heavy rain in some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
The department mentions that there may be several periods of rain in the Northern and North Central Provinces and in the Uva and Eastern Provinces, there will be rain or thundershowers at a few places in the evening or at night.
Meanwhile, strong winds of around 50 km/h blowing from time to time in the western slopes of the central mountains can also be expected.
The department further requested the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
