The Ministry of Health has decided to set up a special task force for nutrition.
The Ministry mentioned that the Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella gave instructions to establish the Task Force headed by the Director General of Health Services.
These instructions were given in a meeting held at the Ministry of Health to discuss the nutrition of the people.
The Ministry of Health further stated that a group of doctors with expertise in various fields including clinical nutrition will be appointed as members of the task force.
Simultaneously, the 2022-2024 emergency nutrition plan will be implemented and it is also reported that it will be implemented across the island in various age groups.
The Ministry of Health stated that Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella has given instructions to make the program of providing food to every hospital in the island efficient so as to maintain the nutritional quality without any deficiency.
