” FATHIMA COME TO SEE RAMADAN”

Today is Ramalan Day. “Fatima, come and see the moon of Ramadan” is part of a song that reads how Sinhalese people join hands with Muslims to maintain national reconciliation.

Muslims celebrate Eid every year. This day marks the end of Ramadan, so they eat their hearts out on this day. Prophet Muhammad first started this tradition in Mecca.

It is believed that the Prophet Muhammad reached Madinah on this day. During Eid, the people of Islam raise their spirits and enjoy themselves a lot. They start preparing for Eid a month ago. The excitement begins at the beginning of Ramadan.

Women begin to prepare their clothes, bracelets, and accessories in advance. Men, on the other hand, prepare for their traditional kurta and pajamas. When people see the moon for Eid, they wish everyone ‘Chand Mubarak’ because it confirms Eid day.

Women and girls also use henna on their hands beautifully. Similarly, houses are painted and decorated. Before Eid, Muslims fast during the holy month of Ramadan, performing almsgiving, prayers and other good deeds.

Thus, on Eid, everyone enjoys their day. It is customary to prepare a sweet vermicelli called saviyan. It is made in two different ways and is famous all over the world.

Similarly, other delicacies such as kebabs, biryani, and korma are prepared. It thus prepares guests to enjoy a hearty meal with their loved ones and loved ones.
