Amnesty International has requested the United Nations Human Rights Council to further strengthen its monitoring of Sri Lanka.
The 51st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council is scheduled to begin tomorrow (12) and will continue until October 7.
In it, Amnesty International has indicated that the accountability project in Sri Lanka started by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights should be strengthened.
It is reported that the organization has also requested the Human Rights Council to establish an expert mechanism on Sri Lanka to monitor, report, promote and provide recommendations on the human rights situation.
