An elephant fell victim to an unauthorized power line

Yesterday (06) it is reported that a wild elephant has died after getting caught in an unauthorized electric wire near a house in Hambantota – Gonnoruwa area.
It is stated that the owner of the concerned house installed this electric cable to protect the crops from wild animals.
However, Hambantota wildlife officials said that the person concerned has been arrested in connection with the incident.
