The proposal made by the Minister of Highways to construct 04 new flyovers, has been approved by the Cabinet.
The new bridges will be built with the financial assistance of the Government of Hungary and the Government of Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, it is proposed to construct these new flyovers at Muttotugala Railway Crossing and Hiripitya Junction, Pasyala Junction, Negombo Maristella Junction and Thalawathugoda Junction.
It has been decided to build these new bridges as a solution to the existing traffic congestion.
The flyovers at Kohuwala and Galambe are currently being constructed with the financial assistance of the Exim Bank of Sri Lanka and the Exim Bank of Hungary to provide relief financial assistance.
