BUDGET PROPOSAL FOR TEACHER-SALARY DISPARITY

Necessary proposals have been made to resolve the teacher-principal salary disparity in this year’s budget report.

Accordingly, it has been proposed to end the trade union action demanding the elimination of teacher-principal salary anomalies and to include another Rs. 30,000 million in salaries to expedite the implementation of the Cabinet decision dated 30.08.2021.

This is in addition to the Rs. 109,000 million currently allocated for teacher salaries.

More than 53,000 graduates who have so far been recruited as graduate trainees will be offered permanent appointments from January 2022 at a cost of around Rs. 27,600 million.

Accordingly, in addition to the Rs. 20,000 million allocated so far, another Rs. 7,600 million will be allocated for this purpose.
