Diesel distribution will be restricted again

Due to the limited availability of diesel, diesel will be distributed only to selected petrol stations on a priority list, said the General Secretary of the Petroleum Distributors Association, Kapila Naotunna.

He says that as the corporation currently has a reserve of about 40,000 metric tons of diesel, the daily distribution of diesel has been reduced to about 2,500 metric tons.

Although a consignment of diesel has been ordered, the supply of the consignment has not yet been confirmed and the arrival of the diesel ship scheduled for the 9th or 10th is uncertain.

It is reported that the next diesel ship under the Indian loan facility is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 16th.
