DO NOT ARREST DESHABANDHU . ORDER FROM ABOVE.

Despite clear evidence that the recent brutal attack on Galle Face Green did not prevent it, the arrest of the relevant police officers continues to be delayed.
It has been reported that Senior DIG Tennakoon had stated that he was aware that the group including Parliamentarian Sanath Nishantha was carrying out the attack.

Earlier in the day, Deshabandu Tennakoon had said, “Do not use tear gas or water cannons until I tell you,” according to senior police officials.

But by law, a sub-inspector is also authorized to use tear gas and water cannon. Also, it is the police officers who are on duty at that time who should take action to prevent crime. The highest ranking police officer at that time was the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Western Province. According to reports we have received, many police officers in the Western Province have been called on duty in the area for various political reasons.
Deshabandu Tennakoon is the highest ranking government official to be held responsible for the barbaric attack which severely damaged the reputation of the police. He is the person who was in that place.

Recently, the Attorney General sent a list of names to the IGP for arrest, “if there is evidence.” Although there is evidence, there are provisions to arrest Deshabandu Tennakoon on the basis of his statement that he knew about it.
But an order has been issued from above not to arrest him. The caller had said, “Do not arrest Deshabandhu.” The relevant high official has replied. “I do not care about the Attorney General’s, I say. You do what I say. ”

We have clear information about the identity of the person but we cannot confirm it, so their names are not mentioned here, but there has been a lot of talk in the police department about this. The demonstrations will be further increasing due to the deception of the police officers and other persons who have not been arrested.

Therefore, in order to protect the motherland, the rule of law must prevail first. If those responsible for the devastation are not brought to justice, it means that another catastrophe is imminent.
