EMIL RANJAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR WELIKADA PRISON SHOOTING

Emil Ranjan Lamahewa has been sentenced to death in connection with the murder of 08 prisoners at Welikada Prison.
Former Prisons Commissioner Emil Ranjan Lamahewa, who was arrested in connection with the 2012 Welikada prison riots, has been sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court today (12).
The first accused in the case, Neomal Rangajeewa, a former Inspector of the Police Narcotics Bureau, has been acquitted by the court.
