In the past 6 months, 10 specialists from Hambantota General Hospital have left the country and an anesthetist from Karapitiya Teaching Hospital has also retired and left the country.
The All Ceylon Medical Officers Association said that the Ministry of Health has failed to fill the shortage of that doctor.
It is reported that the announcement was made while holding a press conference.
Due to this, it is said that the patients who are going to be operated are in a lot of trouble and they have to be taken to different hospitals.
The union has further stated that if these issues are not resolved, they will even have to take professional action in the future.
