It is reported that a senior official of the ambulance service said that it has become difficult to maintain the ‘1990’ Suvasarya ambulance service due to the lack of employees.
The officer said that due to this situation, only 8 ambulances out of the 21 ambulances that were operating in Colombo have been put into service at this time. The official also mentioned that the reason for this is that a large number of drivers and nurses who worked there have left the service.
The officer has further said that there is a good demand in foreign countries for the service certificate of having worked in the Suvasarya Ambulance Service and due to this, the number of employees of the ambulance service has increased.
