It is reported that 5 people were arrested at the Katunayake Airport premises for illegally carrying a stock of gold worth more than 12 crore rupees.
The suspects came to the island by two flights from Dubai and the customs officers found the jewelery and gold biscuits weighing 6 kg while hidden in their body and luggage.
Among the suspects, there are 4 women and a man residing in the Colombo area.
