It is reported that a 23-year-old man has been arrested for conjugal relations with a 12-year-old minor girl.
After an investigation carried out on the basis of information received by Ethetuwewa Police that a minor girl has been raped, statements have been recorded from the relevant minor girl.
Accordingly, the girl has stated that she has identified the concerned young man through a social media network, maintained a romantic relationship with him, and had a relationship with him as husband and wife.
It is stated that the concerned youth is a youth from Mahawa area.
The girl has been sent to the Galgamuwa District Hospital for a medical examination and further investigations are being carried out by the Ahetuwewa Police.
