It is reported that the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, has presented a Cabinet Paper to reduce the price of Bundi Fertilizer (MOP) by another 50%.
The Ministry of Agriculture says that public sector fertilizer companies currently have 28,600 metric tons of Bundi fertilizer.
Accordingly, Dr. Jagath Perera, Chairman of Government-owned Bundi Fertilizer Companies, said that by reducing the cost of Bundi fertilizer, the price can be reduced by 50%.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that accordingly the cabinet paper to reduce the price of Bundi fertilizer by 50% has been submitted to the Council of Ministers and it will be approved by the President.
