It is reported that the Court has given permission to the Criminal Investigation Department to detain and interrogate “Piuma”, who is suspected to be a member of an underworld gang, who was arrested in Dubai and brought to Sri Lanka yesterday (15).
Under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, the Criminal Investigation Department had reported the matter to the Fort Magistrate’s Court.
Those 72 hours are calculated from yesterday.
Piyum Hastika or Piuma Kudu is considered to be the main disciple of the drug dealer Salindu.
It was revealed that he had fled to the state of Dubai on February 09, 2021.
