It is reported that the father of those children who brutally beat up his two children and posted it on social media has been arrested this morning (07).
The 33-year-old suspect’s father, who resides at his wife’s house in an estate in Dimbula Pathana police domain, had committed this attack on the night of last 5th.
It is also reported that the wife of the suspect who attacked the two children aged 09 and 05 has gone abroad for domestic work.
The two children are in the care of the grandmother and the suspect is a person who works in a car cleaning center in Colombo area.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two children were assaulted by the suspect father because they did not follow their father’s instructions.
The suspect was arrested while staying with his two children at his home in Nagasena area under Lidula police domain.
The station commander of Dimbula Pathana Police has further said that the two children who were taken into police custody will be referred to the forensic doctor of Dik Oya Primary Hospital and the suspect will be produced before the Hatton Magistrate Court.
