It is reported that the former commissioner of the Kalmuna Municipal Council who defrauded tax money has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department.
A 60-year-old resident of Perianeelawane, who is currently retired, has been arrested.
The former commissioner has been arrested under the charges of defrauding the tax money owed to the Kalmunai Municipal Council and aiding and abetting it.
It is reported that the arrested suspect is scheduled to be presented to the court today (20).
