It is reported that three Sri Lankan fishermen, who were swept into the Indian waters north of Sri Lanka due to a technical fault, were rescued by a foreign ship and handed over to the Navy.
Accordingly, in coordination with the Colombo Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, the concerned fishermen have been brought safely to the land by the fast attack patrol boat.
The Navy has then taken steps to refer the group of fishermen to the Hambantota Base Hospital for treatment.
They had left for fishing activities on the second day of last September and due to a technical fault in that vessel, they were swept away in Sri Lankan Indian waters.
