It is reported that the Acting Manager of Nochchiyagama Unit of Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority has been arrested in connection with an allegation of receiving bribe.
According to a complaint made by a person in Nochchiyagama area, the officers of the Bribery or Corruption Investigation Commission have arrested the suspect yesterday (20) afternoon.
As reported, the suspected manager was arrested while taking a bribe of 75,000 rupees to prepare a license for a land belonging to the complainant’s deceased father in his name.
It is said that the arrested suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Nochchiyagama Magistrate Court.
