It is reported that a person has drowned and disappeared after being caught in a waterfall while swimming in the sea.
Yesterday (30th) in the evening of Koggala Katalua Bridge estuary in Habaraduwa police area, two of the three people who were swimming in the sea were rescued when they were swept away in the sea and the other person drowned and disappeared.
The police mention that three of a group of people who came for a picnic from the Udawalawa area got caught in a waterfall.
The two rescued have been admitted to Kalugala Hospital for treatment and the missing person is a 35-year-old resident of Balangoda area.
Police, Navy and local residents have launched operations to find the missing person and Habaraduwa Police are conducting further investigations.
