It is reported that a development officer working at the Vavuniya Police Office has been arrested yesterday (20) on the charge of sexually abusing a fifteen-year-old boy.
It is said that this child living in Vavuniya, Kurumankadu area was sexually abused by a group of local residents.
The suspect is a 31-year-old development officer residing in Eachakulam area of Vavuniya.
He was later arrested based on a complaint made to the police and the Vavuniya police have taken steps to present the suspect before the Vavuniya court.
