According to information received by the police that a Buddha statue in a Buddha temple in the Kokilai area of Mullaitivu had been damaged, a person was arrested during an investigation conducted by the police.
It is said that a 33-year-old man who had come to Kokilai for fishing from Negombo area was arrested.
The Kokilai Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.
