It is reported that Mr. Najith Sumanasena, President of the Entomology Officers’ Association, stated that there is currently a shortage of 120 health entomology officer positions and due to this shortage, a crisis in the management of epidemic situations may arise in the future.
But he mentioned that despite such a situation, this year alone, about ten health entomology officers have gone abroad, some of them have gone abroad on leave, but others have left their jobs and gone abroad.
