The parliamentary special committee appointed in this regard has been focusing on the measures taken to control the drug menace in this country and recently the committee met under the chairmanship of its chairman, Mr. Tiran Alas.
Mr. Tiran Alas said that the committee discussed the measures taken by the police, the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board and the National Alcohol Authority to control the drug menace, and a special committee headed by Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakoon was appointed to control the drug menace.
