In Welikanda Sadunpitiya area, a woman fell into the D Canal and drowned. It is reported that the woman in question died while being admitted to the Welikanda Hospital.
The deceased is 35 years old and a resident of Sadunpitiya Welikanda area.
The police said that the body was deposited in the Welikanda Hospital mortuary.
The Welikanda Police is conducting further investigations on this matter.
