It is reported that the Joint Committee of Government Executive Officers has said that all public sector executive officers will report sick leave today (29) and engage in union action.
The committee’s chairman Mr. HLA Udayasiri has said that the professional action has been started based on several demands and a conference will be held today with the participation of all executive officers of the public sector.
“Today, the executive officers of the government, representing the joint committee, decided to enter into a trade union action representing the executive officers of the state-wide services and parallel, departmental services in this country. Today, the executive officers representing the departmental services such as the Proprietorship Service, Educational Administrative Service, Scientific Service, Ayurvedic Medical Service, and Surveying Service of this country, which are considered as the country wide services, are meeting in Colombo and holding a conference…”
Mr. HLA Udayasiri, Chairman of the Joint Committee of Government Executive Officers, has stated that solutions should be provided for the unresolved professional problems of the officers of the executive service.
