Yesterday (13) at around 10 pm in an area between Welikanda and Poonani railway stations.
It is reported that the wild elephant has died after being hit by a wild elephant in the Meengaya night mail train which was running from Batticaloa to Colombo Fort.
Three days ago, an elephant died after being hit by the Pulatisi train at a place close to this place at around 09.15 pm.
