It is reported that the Badulla – Bandarawela road, which was blocked for about 7 days due to a landslide, has been opened for traffic.
Badulla District Secretary Mr. Prabhat Abeywardena has said that the road was opened this afternoon (16).
Due to a landslide that occurred on the last 9th in the Badulla – Bandarawela road, the traffic was stopped for about 7 days.
Mr. Abeywardena has further mentioned that after the Road Development Authority removed the rocks and trees that had collapsed to close the road and repaired the sinkholes and cracks, the geologists of the National Gedanagili Research Organization checked whether the place is in a suitable condition to travel.
