It is reported that in a discussion held at Balangoda-Samanalawatta College yesterday (19) regarding the disappearance of people in the Balangoda-Samanalawatta area, the local residents demanded a police checkpoint in that area.
It is said that several parties including the officials of the Balangoda Divisional Secretariat and the Balangoda Police were involved in this event.
The residents of the area have stated in this meeting that no information has been received regarding the student named Shan Kumara who went missing about five years ago and another person has been missing for the past three days.
