It is reported that the cabinet has approved the signing of a cooperation framework between the Sri Lanka Export Development Board and international fair trade networks.
International fair trade networks are a global network of equitable distribution of benefits through certification of standards, producer support programs and advocacy. Government sources have stated that the Sri Lanka Export Development Board has proposed to formulate an action plan together with the partners of the International Fair Trade Network to promote the concept of fair trade in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the President as Minister of Investment Promotion to sign a cooperation framework with the aim of increasing cooperation between international fair trade networks and Sri Lanka.
