Acting Minister of Transport Lasantha Alagiyawanna has stated that no decision has been reached to lower train fares.
He has stated this in response to a question raised by a media person during the government’s press conference under the reduction of transport charges.
In the discussion today (29), he has further stated that since the railway service is operating at a loss, he will not resort to such action at this time and will consider it in the future and arrange to provide some relief.
