Further consideration of the petition filed against the decision of the Sports Minister to suspend the registration of Sri Lanka Cricket and to appoint an interim control committee to manage its affairs was adjourned until tomorrow (28) and this petition was heard today (27) by Sobitha Rajakaruna and D. N. It has been re-considered today before the Court of Appeal bench consisting of Messrs. Samarakoon.
According to reports, the president’s lawyer Mr. Saliya Peiris has presented the facts before the court on behalf of the members of the interim committee including Arjuna Ranatunga, the chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Control Committee, who are named as respondents in the relevant petition.
After that, the further inquiry was adjourned until tomorrow and the president of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mr. Shammi Silva, has submitted this petition.
