It is reported that the police headquarters has taken steps to suspend a police sergeant who assaulted drunken people and behaved violently.
It is said that this sergeant has assaulted people while drunk in front of a temple in Vanasala area of Kelaniya.
A police sergeant attached to the Peliyagoda police has been suspended.
