“All the trade unions of Sri Lanka Electricity Board are holding a massive protest trade union joint conference today at 1 pm at Vihara Mahadevi Open Air Theater. The main reason for this is that the government has prepared to restructure Sri Lanka Electricity Board and sell it to 15 private companies. Under the guise of restructuring, Sri Lanka Electricity Board is like It is a serious situation to put a giant in the hands of foreign companies regardless of national security. With the contents of that bill, a proposal to go on a continuous strike, especially if we need to, is to be adopted in today’s conference. In today’s conference, everyone except the employees who run power plants and unnecessary breakdowns of Ceylon Electricity Board have reported sick leave. Coming to Viharamahadevi Ranga Peetha, Colombo.”
