It is reported that the Kurukkuliya Maha Vidyalaya was temporarily closed due to the arrival of a herd of six wild elephants in the Kurukkuliya area of Arachchikattu this morning (31).
A group of students had come to this school even when the herd of wild elephants invaded the village and a teacher of the school has said that the students were handed over to their parents.
The teacher has further said that the school was temporarily closed today (31) for the safety of the students.
It is said that the officials of the wildlife department and the police have taken steps to drive away the herd of wild elephants with the help of local residents.
