The Department of Irrigation has stated that there is a possibility of minor flooding in the lowlands around the Kuda Ganga which is a tributary of the Kalu Ganga.
In issuing a flood warning notice, the department has mentioned that rain is continuing in the feeder areas of the Kudo Ganga, and accordingly, minor flooding may occur in the lowlands around Bulathsinghala, Madurawala and Palindanuwara during the next 24 hours.
It is also said that due to this, there is a high risk of inundation of the by-roads that have passed through the low lands around the Kuda Ganga.
The Irrigation Department requests the people living in those areas and the traffic drivers to deal with the situation with great care.
