It is reported that the Supreme Court decided today (19) not to hear the petitions filed challenging the Anti-Terrorism Bill submitted to Parliament by the government.
Accordingly, the three-judge panel headed by Mr. Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya has announced that the Speaker has made an announcement that the relevant Bill has not been submitted to the Parliament and that the Court is not in a position to conduct a hearing on the Bill.
The relevant petitions were submitted by Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Vijitha Herath and other members of Parliament of the National People’s Power.
