MANNAR FISHERMEN PROTEST

Thousands of fishermen in Mannar are protesting against the forced robbery of Indian fishermen.

Yesterday (23), thousands of Mannar fishermen marched in the city of Mannar protesting against the large number of Indian fishermen coming to the North Sea.

In support of the protest of fishermen’s associations of Mannar, United Trade Union of Mannar closed all their shops and supported the protest against Indian fishermen.

The Christian priests of Mannar also supported the protest of the Fishermen’s Union and marched on the road with the fishermen.

Representatives of fishermen’s associations in Mannar claim that when the navy arrested more Indian fishermen coming towards Jaffna, a large number of Indian fishermen came to Mannar sea and forcibly killed fish.
