It is reported that a three-month-old baby has died due to choking on breast milk in Vaddukkodei area, Jaffna.
The child’s mother passed out while breastfeeding on the night of the 23rd last night, and the child was hospitalized due to breast milk retention.
It is said that this three-month-old child named Krishnakumar Hariharan, a resident of Jaffna Vaddukoddei, died in hospital.
The post-mortem examination regarding the death of the deceased child was conducted yesterday (24) at the Jaffna Hospital Mortuary, and it was revealed that the child died due to breast milk being trapped in the lungs.
Hospital sources have stated that after the post-mortem examination, the dead body was handed over to the relatives.
