It is reported that Mr. Sisira Rajapakse, the national organizer of Principal Services Association, stated that there are 697 principal vacancies and 5098 teacher vacancies in the North West Province alone, and these vacancies exist in 08 education zones and 31 divisions in the two districts of Kurunegala and Puttalam in the North West Province.
He has further mentioned that although three years have passed since the last recruitment, competitive examinations have not been conducted to fill these vacancies.
