It is reported that the directives related to the granting of petroleum production licenses have been issued by the minister in charge Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera and it has been published in a gazette.
According to this gazette, several conditions have been presented to the Ministry Secretary in granting a license and if an applicant comes forward for the import, export, sale, supply or distribution of petroleum in this country, it must be a registered entity under the Companies Act, and the orders of the Board of Investment have been complied with. It has been announced by the gazette.
