It is reported that the health staff belonging to 05 professions related to paramedic service have decided to engage in a symbolic strike tomorrow (24) based on 7 demands.
Mr. Chanaka Dharmawickrama, President of Radiology Technologists Association, who commented on this matter,
05 professions related to paramedic services have now decided to implement a 24-hour strike from 08:00 tomorrow morning to 08:00 Friday morning. The five professional groups of radiology technologists, laboratory scientists, pharmacists as well as physical therapists and occupational therapists are involved in this strike action. Then these trade unions decided to enter into this strike action, for their 07 demands. Among these demands is the continuous delay in approving the recruitment procedure. Because of this strike action CT tests, X-ray tests, MRI tests, all laboratory test services. Also, all the services such as distribution and dispensing of medicines are being disrupted.”
