It is reported that Colombo Chief Magistrate Mr. Prasanna Alwis has ordered to remand the sub-inspector who was arrested on suspicion of taking a sexual bribe in a hotel until the 19th.
The sub-inspector who was attached to Kalmunai headquarters police who was arrested during a raid conducted by the Bribery Commission has been remanded in custody.
The suspect has been arrested according to a complaint filed by a woman in Waripathanam Chena area, Kalmunai and in a case assigned to the court in Kalmunai against the complainant, to submit a further report in a way that suits the complainant and to extend the court order to be signed once a week at the police station to once a month. The Bribery Commission informed the court that the concerned suspect was arrested in a hotel in Kalmunai while trying to get a sexual bribe as a bribe for the arrangement.
