It is reported that instead of 50 kilos of wild pork seized during a raid, only 05 kilos of wild pork were presented to the court and the remaining 45 kilos were eaten.
It is stated that the police have taken steps to file a case against this officer in the Matara Magistrate’s Court under the charges of mishandling, dishonestly or fraudulently hiding or removing the case goods.
According to reports, when the case was called recently (21), the sub-inspector was released on a bail of one lakh rupees after appearing before the court.
This officer was attached to Thihagoda Police Station and he was involved in the pork raid while he was attached to Akurassa Police Station. It is reported that this wild pork was raided on February 26.
According to an anonymous petition received by the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Southern Province regarding this fraudulent act by this officer, investigations have been started in this regard and on the basis of the information revealed there, steps have been taken to file a case against the concerned officer.
