It is reported that the Department of Railways has said that the second phase of the Northern Railway Modernization Project will start from January 07.
Its Deputy General Manager N. Mr. J Indipolage mentioned that the section of the Northern Railway from Mahawa to Anuradhapura will be closed for a period of 06 months from that date.
During this period, train services will operate only from Colombo to Mahava and from Anuradhapura to Kankasanthuraya.
