THE BUDDHIST DELEGATION THAT WENT TO PAKISTAN TO THE ISLAND.

It is reported that the Sri Lankan Buddhist delegation reached Katunayake Airport last night (16) to participate in a research thesis presentation workshop and conference called “Gandhara and Taxila Tradition” held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Abhayagiri Temple Administrator, Sri Lanka Bhikshu University Senior Lecturer Acharya Kallanchiye Rathana Thero, Buddhist Affairs Department Development Officer Welivitiye Sujeeva Thero, Buddha Sasana Ministry Director Mr. Nishantha Pushpakumara participated in this program, and in this program, 09 Buddhist countries in the region around Sri Lanka participated.  It is stated that a delegation was present and the program has been held for 7 days since the 10th.

Also, after presenting this conference and research theses papers, the Sri Lankan delegation has also gone to see the “Dharmaraja Stupa” built by King Ashoka, which is a Buddhist heritage of the country, and the Buddha’s right tooth relic kept in the Taxila Museum.
